Information about your stay

Pitches: Arrivals are from 14:00 on the day of arrival and departures before 12:00 on the day of departure. For arrivals outside the high season: please pay attention to our reception opening hours!

Lodges: Arrivals are after 15:00 on the day of arrival and departures before 10:00 on the day of departure. For arrivals and departures outside the high season: please pay attention to our reception opening hours!

Electrical hookup

If you wish to have electricity on your pitch, you will need an adapter to European standards (blue plug) and an extension cord of at least 25 m. Access is limited to 6 amps, allowing you to plug in your fridge, your light, charge your electronic appliances… Warning: Electric hobs are often too powerful – opt for a gas stove instead.

Non-standardised pitches

You come to sleep in a natural environment, so the pitches are not standardised. There may be roots or trees in the middle of the pitches. The campsite is located at the foot of the dune, the ground can be more or less sandy and in some places slightly sloping. You should bring suitable camping equipment with you. For the same reason, cars cannot be parked on the pitches themselves. Car parks are provided throughout the campsite to allow your vehicle to be parked as close as possible to your pitch.

Sanitary blocs

There is no toilet paper in the restrooms, remember to bring your own!

Animals

Dogs are welcome in the campsite and on pitches (but not in our lodges), kept on a leash and walked outside the campsite for natural needs.

Supplies and grocery shopping in Carcans

A small mini-market with its bread depot is at your disposal inside the campsite. It is closed in low season.

At Carcans Plage you will find a small grocery shop, a bakery, a greengrocer and a butcher (in high season). There is also a market on Monday mornings (mid-June to mid-September).

In Maubuisson, 5 km from the campsite, you will find a tobacconist’s shop, a fishmonger’s, a wine shop, a cash dispenser, a post office,…

The nearest supermarkets are in Lacanau Océan and Carcans Ville (10-15 minutes by car), a supermarket (Super U) in Lacanau Ville (20 minutes by car) and an Aldi in Hourtin (25 minutes by car).

Attention : The nearest cash dispenser is in Maubuisson!

WIFI and mobile data in Carcans Plage

The campsite offers free Wi-Fi access, but don’t expect à̀ a fast internet connection. Here you can surf better on the ocean waves than on the internet. 😉 The major telephone operators provide 3G and 4G in the village, but during the high season the network can quickly become saturated – get ready for a moment of digital detox! If you need the internet for work, you can always have a coffee in the village and enjoy the Wifi in the restaurants!

Public transport access

From Bordeaux train station, you can reach the campsite by bus or car-sharing. During the summer, line 710 takes you directly to Carcans Plage. Line 702 takes you all year round to Lacanau Océan, 10 km from Carcans Plage (nearest bus stop: Le Huga). From Lacanau, you can take a taxi or try hitchhiking…
